Five Men Nabbed For Several High-End Long Island Burglaries, Police Say

Five men from Chile in the country on visas have been arrested in connection with a serious of alleged high-end residential burglaries.

Police detectives arrested the five men on Thursday, March 5 for the burglaries that occurred in February and March throughout Nassau County.

The men were connected to the crimes through an investigation by the department's burglary pattern team who were able to track the five to a location in the Bronx and arrest the men without incident, the Nassau County Police Department said.

Police say the men are responsible for the following burglaries:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 12: A residence in Sands Point
  • Tuesday, March 3: A residence in Great Neck
  • Wednesday, March 4: A residence in Locust Valley and an attempted burglary at a residence in Glen Cove.

All five are in the country on a 90-day ESTA Visa and have no known address in this country, the department said.

Those arrested includes:

  • William Jesus Medel-Perez, 23, charged with two counts of burglary and attempted burglary.
  • Amaro Valentino Rosas Rosas, 23, charged with two counts of burglary and attempted burglary.
  • Juan Antonio Hernadez Rosas, 25, charged with burglary.
  • Bayron Felipe Cruz Palta, 26, charged with burglary.
  • Fabian Lopez Catalan, 20, with burglary.

All five are being held and will be arraigned on Friday, March 6.
